Beyond Meat COO Bit Man's Nose, Ripped Flesh After Arkansas Football Game

Doug Ramsey, the chief operating officer for the meat-alternative company Beyond Meat, was arrested after he allegedly bit a man's nose during an altercation inside a garage at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium after Arkansas' 38-27 win against Missouri State on Saturday.

Ramsey, 53, of Fayetteville, was charged with terroristic threatening in the third degree in relation to the incident, according to a preliminary police report obtained by KNWA in Fayetteville.

The victim, a witness, and the arresting officer all said that Ramsey punched another driver and bit his nose so hard that it caused flesh to rip.

The preliminary report states that Ramsey accused the victim's Subaru of making contact with the passenger tire of Ramsey's SUV as the victim had inched into a line of cars attempting to exit the garage.

Ramsey is then accused of punching through the window of the victim's car and pulling him closer before biting his face.

"Mr. Ramsey also bit the owner’s nose, ripping the flesh on the tip of the nose," the officer wrote via KNWA. "The owner and the witness also heard Mr. Ramsey threaten to kill the owner of the Subaru."

The two men were separated by bystanders and Ramsey was arrested at the scene, according to police.

Ramsey was announced as Beyond Meat's chief operating officer in December 2021 after having spent nearly 30 years with Tyson Foods, the top meat producer in the United States, working in nearby Springdale.

Ramsey was released on a nearly $12,000 bond, according to inmate information posted by the Washington County Sheriff's Office via NBC News.

An SEO filing on December 8 obtained by NBC News reports that Ramsey received $450,000 in "sign-on" bonus cash that would have to be repaid if he and Beyond Meat parted ways prior to the one-year anniversary of his hiring.

Bucs Signed Former All-Pro Amid Mike Evans' Suspension, Injuries

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reportedly plan to sign veteran wide receiver Cole Beasley to their practice squad amid Mike Evans' suspension and multiple injuries at the position, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported on Good Morning Football Tuesday morning.

Beasley said he planned to hold out for the right opportunity amid several offers from NFL teams since being released by the Buffalo Bills during the offseason, according to Garafolo.

"Getting the chance to play alongside [Buccaneers quarterback] Tom Brady, who has remained in contact with Beasley in recent weeks, months, yeah, that's the right situation," Garafolo said. "He's going to come in, he's going to sign today to their practice squad with the expectation that he will be elevated to their roster in the near future."

Jason Whitlock Says Joe Burrow Might Be a 'High-Class Josh Rosen'

Jason Whitlock: “I love TJ’s [Moe] take of Joe Burrow perhaps being overvalued. We all love the Joe Namath aspect of Joe Burrow, he’s got all the swag, he dresses for the walk-in runway, you throw on some jewelry, you got him pictured with the cigar… I gotta say, if he were Black we may have been quicker to call out the BS around Joe Burrow, that he’s kind of full of himself. Maybe I got the wrong narrative here on Joe Burrow.”

[In Full YouTube segment below]: “This guy has tried to be outspoken on gun violence, on abortion, this dude is like a combination of Cam Newton and Colin Kaepernick. When Kap went woke, and when Cam was all fashion show I didn’t like it, and when I’m looking at Joe Burrow be a combination of those two things I don’t like it.”

Watch Jason Whitlock, TJ Moe, and Steve Kim of ‘Fearless’ discuss Joe Burrow and the Bengals' surprising 0-2 start to the season, and why they believe there might soon be a new narrative surrounding Burrow that could unmask an imposter underneath.

Check out the segment above as Whitlock details why he thinks Burrow is turning into an unfortunate combination of Colin Kaepernick and Cam Newton.

Dodgers Legend Maury Wills Dies at 89

Dodgers Legend Maury Wills Dies at 89

Los Angeles Dodgers legend Maury Wills died at the age of 89 on Monday night, the team announced on its official website Tuesday.

Wills' death took place on the 60th anniversary season of the shortstop becoming the first Dodger to win the National League MVP award since the team's move to Los Angeles. The team did not announce a cause of death as of Tuesday.

"This is a tough one for me," said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, who considered Wills a friend and mentor, while shedding a tear, according to Dodger Insider.

Wills was a member of three of the Dodgers' World Series title teams in 1959, 1963 and 1965 during his first eight MLB seasons (1959-66), which included leading the National League in stolen bases during six consecutive seasons (1960-65), winning two Gold Glove awards and making seven All-Star game appearances.

Twitter Reacts After LeBron James Shared Photo of Apparent 'Bald' Head

Twitter Reacts After LeBron James Shared Photo of Apparent 'Bald' Head

Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James quickly went viral on Tuesday after sharing a photo of himself with what appears to be a shaved head.

James posted the selfie on his Instagram story and appears to be wearing a barber cape and sitting in a barber's chair, however, did ask followers if the photo looked "real" or was "fake/filter," without explaining which option was actually true.

Complex Sports tweeted a graphic showing James, Michael Jordan, and the late Kobe Bryant both with hair and shaved heads alongside the caption, "It's time. @KingJames."

Nice Kicks' Twitter account posted, "Bald LeBron is coming for us all," alongside the picture.

Numerous other Twitter users also shared responses to James' apparent haircut.

Others, however, questioned whether the new look was actually just a bald filter.

James had previously sported a shaved head in an Instagram post shared after the 2017 NBA season, which also caused a stir on social media.

Last month, James agreed to a two-year, $97.1 million contract extension with the Lakers, avoiding free agency next offseason, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski initially reported at the time.

James' starting salary is set at $46.7 million and the extension also includes a 15% trade kicker, which makes the four-time NBA MVP the highest-earning player in NBA history with $532 million, according to Wojnarowski.

The extension made James ineligible for a no-trade clause as it is added to his previous contract with the Lakers, as he'll be due a 5% raise implemented in the second year of his new contract, according to Wojnarowski.

James is limited to signing a two-year extension as part of a newly implemented rule prohibiting players 38 and older from signing longer-term contracts as part of the NBA's collective bargaining agreement.

The Akron native averaged 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game during the 2021-22 NBA season, however, was limited to just 56 games as the Lakers fell short of the postseason.

The 38-year-old enters his 20th NBA season as the NBA's all-time combined leading scorer with 44,693 total points in the regular-season and postseason, as well as second behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387) for the NBA all-time scoring record with 37,062 regular-season points.

Doug Gottlieb on Trey Lance: 'Sunday Was the End of Trey Lance With Niners'

Doug Gottlieb on Trey Lance: 'Sunday Was the End of Trey Lance With Niners'

Doug Gottlieb: “I think yesterday [Sunday] was the end of Trey Lance with the Niners. I know you’re like ‘God, Gottlieb, that’s so harsh!’ I don’t make the rules of the NFL, I’m just telling you the reality. Maybe next year he gets a shot to fight to be a starter… MAYBE. But think about it, it wasn’t like he blew everyone out of the water in terms of his preparation and performance in the preseason.  Last year he was very, very ‘green’, he was a project guy, and he only played one year in college because of the COVID year. But it wasn’t like he was so good, of course they’ll get rid of Jimmy Garoppolo, they have the guy. Nobody said that and nobody said that for a reason. So you factor in nobody knows how good he is, he’s still inexperienced and next year he’s going to be equally inexperienced, and now he’s coming off an injury? One of the reasons the Niners wanted to move on from Jimmy Garoppolo was because he’s always hurt. This only works one of two ways: Garoppolo is not great and they move on from him at the end of the season, but they’re going to go after another quarterback. OR Jimmy Garoppolo is good, Jimmy gets his job back, he re-signs, and Trey Lance is his backup and still develops. Next year is year three and they have to decide whether they want to pick up the fifth year. The days of him being handed the starting quarterback job with the Niners ended yesterday [Sunday] with that injury. That’s the reality of the league, that’s the reality of where he is as a player, how he’s performed to date, and having an injury at this point in the season. That’s the last you’ll see of Trey Lance of the starting quarterback of the Niners without some sort of fight during training camp or another injury.” (Full Segment Above)

Watch Doug Gottlieb discuss the ramifications of Trey Lance’s season-ending ankle injury that has not only rejuvenated the career of Jimmy Garoppolo but perhaps even resurrected the entire season for a 49ers team who got embarrassed in Week 1 by the lowly Bears.

Check out the segment above as Gottlieb details why he believes Lance’s injury will have dire consequences for his future in the NFL.

Trey Lance Started His Last Game for the 49ers

San Francisco 49ers QB Trey Lance is out for the year after undergoing season ending surgery on his broken ankle after yesterday’s game. The Niners were led to victory by backup QB Jimmy Garoppolo who wasn’t even supposed to be on the roster. Considering these developments, Doug is convinced Lance won’t start another game for the Niners unless he can fight and win the job back in camp next year, or somebody else gets injured.

Doug Gottlieb: “That’s the last you’ll see of Trey Lance being the starting quarterback of the Niners without some sort of fight next year in training camp, or another injury to somebody else.

Tom Brady Will Get Special Veteran Exemption in 2022

Tom Brady Will Get Special Veteran Exemption in 2022

Photo: Chris Graythen

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady will reportedly get a veteran rest day each week during the 2022 NFL season, according to NFL Network Senior Insider Ian Rapoport.

"It is a new reality for Bucs quarterback Tom Brady. He took Wednesday off this past week, a veteran rest day, personal day. My understanding after talking to several sources is that this is going to be the way it's going to be for Tom Brady this entire season," Rapoport said on NFL GameDay Sunday (September 18) morning. "For the first time in his illustrious career, he is getting a day off every single week."

Rapoport added that the Buccaneers believe Brady will come back stronger with the additional rest day.

Brady took a more than 10-day absence from the team during the preseason, which was initially reported by Rapoport on August 11.

Brady, who turned 45 in August, announced his retirement, then un-retirement this offseason ahead of his 23rd NFL season.

Brady is the NFL's all-time passing leader for yards (84,732) and touchdowns (625), as well as quarterback wins (244), among numerous other records.

The San Mateo native spent his first 20 seasons with the New England Patriots, leading the franchise to an NFL record six Super Bowl championships (tied with the Steelers), before joining the Buccaneers as a free agent in March 2020, which resulted in Tampa Bay winning its second Super Bowl in franchise history, becoming the first NFL team to win a Super Bowl in its home stadium, in February 2021.

University of Oregon Apologized For 'Despicable Chants' During BYU Game

University of Oregon Apologized For 'Despicable Chants' During BYU Game

A video shared on social media showed Oregon Ducks fans chanting an expletive directed at fans of Brigham Young University, a private college of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, targeting the school's religious ties.

Twitter user @NateSlack5 shared the video on Twitter, which shows several Oregon fans chanting "f*** the Mormons," prompting a response from Utah Governor Spencer Cox, who claimed, "Religious bigotry alive and celebrated in Oregon" on Saturday night.

Oregon's interim vice president for student life, Kris Winter, shared a statement in response to the video on behalf of the school, which was obtained by NBC News.

(WARNING: The video below contains foul language.)

"The university apologizes for the despicable chants made by some University of Oregon fans at today’s football game with Brigham Young University," Winter said. "There is no place for hate, bias or bigotry at the University of Oregon," she said. "These actions are simply unacceptable. We will investigate, and we call on our students and campus community to refuse to accept or tolerate this type of behavior."

The Deseret News, a newspaper in Salt Lake City, claimed that BYU fans faced similar chants when the Cougars faced USC in Los Angeles last November.

The University of Southern California also issued an apology for the incident involving its fans at the time.

Oregon defeated BYU, 41-20, at Autzen Stadium on Saturday.
